Military Life
Kat Mahoney is a dedicated military veteran spouse with over 40 years of military life experience navigating the unique challenges as a brat turned spouse. She has developed a wealth of knowledge and resources that include a Career Woman's journey raising three children on the Autism Spectrum and supporting a military veteran husband of 33 years who struggles with Autism. She has faced the demands of constant deployments for nine months out of every twelve, Special Needs Advocacy for military children, and Military Transistioning Changes, all the while building her own business, writing books, and finding time for self love.
Mrs. Mahoney is the Founder of Kids of America's Heroes (KOAH), where she has worked to connect counselors with military children in educational settings, providing them with the necessary support to thrive in their unique circumstances. This initiative is a testament to her commitment to ensuring the well-being and development of military families, recognizing their own sacrifices and contributions to our country and the mission.
Through her military and Mompreneurship experiences, she has cultivated a collection of inspiring stories, mindfulness techniques, and practical advice tailored for both new and transitioning military spouses that is reflected in her authorship of several award-winning books focused on military children and families, which have been recognized and supported by Lockheed Martin. These contributions earned her notable accolades, including the nomination for National Military Spouse of the Year, the USAF Presidential Military Spouse Awards, and multiple Spouse of the Quarter Awards. Additionally, she had the honor of serving as a keynote speaker at the Governor's Military Mental Health Conference, Mental Health America, and Advisory on the Google Health & Technology Board during COVID19.
Her approach to supporting military families is encapsulated in a five-step plan that emphasizes the importance of: Edutainment, Faith, Family, Passion, and Self-Love. Mrs. Mahoney believes that these elements are crucial for fostering resilience and well-being in both personal and professional spheres.
